Gather the information needed to configure the EPM server so that it will be able to take over as the primary server. The EPM server must have access to up-to-date JTPs, process templates, mark sets, ICC profiles, and fonts stored in nonstandard folders.

  • Planning the JTP distribution
Before the EPM server can operate in failover mode as the primary server, the Prinergy JTP configuration must match the JTP configuration of the primary server.
  • Redistributing the JTPs
You must configure the JTPs on the EPM server so that they match the primary server closely enough to resume production after a failover.
  • Preparing process templates and moving referenced files
You must update the locations of JTPs, mark sets, and ICC profiles in the process templates so that the EPM server can find them.
  • Updating color information
For successful color processing in EPM mode, the EPM secondary server must have the same PANTONE color library version as the primary server and must contain all the global color entries.
  • Installing fonts
All the fonts that are required for jobs must be installed on the EPM server.
  • Testing failover
Simulate a failover at regular intervals to ensure that the failover system operates properly.
