  1. When is it necessary to create a wrapped step-and-repeat layout?

    Wrapping a step and repeat layout is used for certain types of gravure cylinders or flexographic sleeves that have no leading edge and are continuous.

  2. How do you create a wrapped step-and-repeat layout?

    a. Right-click the artwork on the substrate and select Step & Repeat, or from the Object menu, select Step & Repeat.

    b. In the Layout section of the Step & Repeat dialog box, enter the horizontal and vertical position, and select the Wrap Top to Bottom check box.

    c. In the Steps section, specify how many times the artwork is repeated horizontally and vertically, and enter the gap or distance.

    d. In the Stagger section, enter the type of stagger and the amount. 

    e. Click OK.

  3. Why would you duplicate a mark rather than step and repeat it?

    Duplicating a mark enables you to adjust each of the marks individually.
