In the past

1-up artwork is positioned in a layout based on the lower-left corner of the trim box or media box, rather than by the center of the 1-up artwork.

If one piece of artwork is substituted with a new piece of artwork, and the artwork media boxes differ in size, the new artwork will experience image shift and be placed inaccurately in the layout. In this case you must set a trim box for each piece of artwork using the Kodak Geometry Editor in Acrobat. This requires an extra step.

Center 1-up artwork

Center 1-up artwork eliminates the problem of image shift, as well as the time it takes to set trim boxes. As the artwork is placed in a layout based on the center of the artwork, it doesn't matter if the media boxes differ in size.

The center 1-up artwork process can be handled in two ways

  1. Enabling the center 1-up artwork functionality through an Import Process Template.
When a Pandora layout is imported into Prinergy Workflow Packaging Automation Expansion Pack with the center 1-up artwork functionality being available, the layout will automatically center any artwork assigned to it. In other words, if a new piece of artwork is assigned to the centered layout in Prinergy Workflow Packaging Automation Expansion Pack, the artwork will automatically be centered.
  2. Enabling the center 1-up artwork functionality through the Prinergy Job Manager.
If a Pandora layout is imported into Prinergy Workflow Packaging Automation Expansion Pack without the center 1-up artwork functionality being available, you can still center artwork manually using the Center 1-Up Artwork feature available from the Edit menu.
