You can create a default trap set and make it available to PDF Trap Editor. When you open an untrapped PDF file, and then open a trapping dialog box, the plug-in will automatically load the trapping parameters from the default trap set into the trapping dialog box.

  1. Create and save preferred trap settings in a trap set.
  2. In Acrobat versions 7 and 8:
    • In Mac OS, select Acrobat > Preferences > Kodak PDF Trap Editor.
    • In Windows, select Edit > Preferences > Kodak PDF Trap Editor.
  3. In the Preferences dialog box, in the Default Trap Set box, type the full path name for the saved trap set. Alternatively, click Browse and locate the saved trap set.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Open a file that was refined and color-matched, but not trapped, in Prinergy.
  6. In PDF Trap Editor, click Trap page, or select items and click Trap the selection. In the trapping dialog box, the Trap Set status shows as Default.
  7. Check the trapping options, and apply the new trap set to the PDF.

The trapping parameters are applied to the page or selection. The Trap Set status shows as From PDF file.
