Set up the Certified Process for Color Confirmation to use a color bar placeholder with a custom profile created by you.

Color bar

You will create a color bar using the user-defined color bar placeholder provided with Kodak Proofing Software.

You can create the artwork for the placeholder, or you can use artwork created by an industry-standards organization. Kodak Proofing Software adds the artwork to the placeholder when you color-manage the color bar during the setup of the Certified Process for Color Confirmation.

Profile

The profile will be a custom profile. Custom profiles are created by you. You must use Proofer Administrator to sign these profiles before you use the profiles with the Certified Process for Color Confirmation. In Proofer Administrator, on the ICC Profiles tab, the origin of these profiles is Custom.

Procedure

  1. Import the desired ICC profile.
  2. Sign the imported profile for the Simulation category.
  3. If applicable, export any required signed ICC profiles.
  4. Copy the signed profiles to workflow software.
  5. Create the color bar using the User Defined color bar artwork and the custom ICC profile selected from the Characterization Standard list. Enable the snapshot method for setting the L*a*b* Target Values.
  6. Create a layout with the Certified Process for Color Confirmation option enabled and the color bar selected.
  7. Set up the proofing hot folder or workflow process template to use this layout, the applicable media configuration, and the proofer ICC device or DeviceLink profile.
  8. Export and submit the artwork PDF file to this processing setup for color management.
  9. When the crosshairs are correctly aligned on the printed color bar, use the Measurement wizard to measure the color bar to complete the setup and and populate the L*a*b* Target Values.
