Use the Measurement wizard to measure the color bar and capture the target L*a*b* values for the color bar.

When target L*a*b* values exist in the description file for the color bar and you clear the Snapshot color values on next reading check box (while creating or editing the color bar), the Measurement wizard does not overwrite the L*a*b* values in the description file with the measurement values during this step. The Measurement wizard leaves the existing target L*a*b* values and uses this step to complete the setup of the color bar.

Note: For proofers with an inline spectrophotometer, the proofer software measures the color bars automatically.

  1. In Proofer Viewer, from the Measure menu, select Color Confirmation.
  2. Follow the instructions in the Measurement wizard to measure a color bar.
In the description file for the color bar, you define the minimum amount of time for the Measurement wizard to wait for the ink to dry before measuring the color bar.

When the Snapshot color values on next reading check box is selected, the L*a*b* measurements of the color bar are stored in the description file for the color bar, and the values become the targets against which all future measurements of the color bar are compared.
