Hot folders and virtual printers can process color bar artwork that contains an object for white flood.

Requirements:

  • A Matchprint Inkjet proofer with white ink, such as an Epson Stylus Pro WT7900 printer
  • A layout with Color Confirmation enabled
  • A media configuration with white ink enabled
  • A proofer profile for the media configuration
  • A simulation device link or a pair of ICC profiles
  • A color library that contains a name and recipe for the object in the color bar artwork that defines white flood
  • A PDF file of the color bar artwork that includes an object for white flood

During setup of the Certified Process for Color Confirmation for user-defined color bars, you can use a hot folder or virtual printer to color manage artwork that contains an object for white flood. A recipe from a color library defines white flood. Subsequent proofs that use the color bar must use the same recipe for white flood.

  1. In Proofer Viewer, from the Configure menu, select Hot Folders/Virtual Printers.
  2. Click New.
  3. Perform the following actions:
    1. In the Layout list, select a layout with Color Confirmation enabled.
    2. In the Media Configuration list, select a media configuration with white ink enabled.
    3. In the Halftone Handling list, select None.
    4. Set the remaining options as desired, and click Next.
  4. On the Spot Colors tab, perform the following actions:
    1. In the Handling list, select Don't map spot colors.
    2. Select Look up in spot color database.
    3. Select the library that contains a name and recipe for all objects in the input files that you want to print with white ink, including white flood and spot colors.
  5. On the ICC Settings tab, perform the following actions:
    1. In the Simulation Color Space area, click Advanced.
    2. Select a device link or a pair of ICC profiles, and click OK.
  6. On the White Settings tab, select do not use white flood.
Kodak Proofing Software will not add white flood to the proof because the artwork includes an object for white flood.
  7. Set the remaining options as desired.
  8. Click Save.
