If the spot colors in your composite input files don't match the spot colors that you need for output, or you don't know what spot colors are in your input files, and trapping and color matching are part of your workflow:

  1. See Creating a refine to PDF process template.
  2. Clear the Trap Match Colors, Spot Color Handling, and Overprint Conversion sections check boxes.
  3. See Creating process templates.
  4. In the Render section Spot Color Handling list, select Convert separations to process.
  5. See Customizing the template palette, making sure in the Customize Template Palette dialog box, to select the refine to PDF and output from imposition process templates you created in steps 1 and 2.
  6. See Submitting files to the template palette.
  7. In Acrobat software, check the resulting PDF pages to ensure the spot colors are correct.
  8. In the Color Database Editor dialog box, configure as necessary. See Creating your own color library.
  9. See Rerefining PDF pages with spot color mappings using a process template with all required settings enabled.
  10. Using your imposition software (for example, Preps) and the PDF pages Prinergy Evo has created, check the imposition plan page positions.
  11. Submit the imposition plan file to the imposed output imposition Template Palette.
  12. In the Process Start dialog box, click Colors to manually map colors. For more information, see Manually mapping colors.
  13. Use the Colors dialog box to map spot colors from the imposition plan marks to output separations.
  14. See Changing your color separations print order if required.
  15. Click Go to submit the file for proofing or platemaking.
