A lane is a strip that surrounds the data. Lanes are used when the data is concentrated in specific areas with wide non-data areas around them. Each lane represents a strip of plate wrapped around the sleeve.
- From the Inventory palette, on the Separations tab, in the Seam/Lanes list, select the lane that you want to create.
The relevant separation is selected, the Properties palette opens on the Lanes tab, and the display window shows the lanes around the data. - To adjust one or more lanes, perform any of the following actions:
On the Lanes tab of the Properties palette, select a lane, and change the values in the Lane width or Offset boxes.
Click Auto-Fit to minimize the non-data area around the selected lane or lanes.
Note: You can define the size of the margin around the lane in the Preferences > Plate on Sleeve Planning > Lane auto-fit margin box.- To split a lane vertically, select the lane and click Split.
- To merge two lanes, select the lanes and click Merge.
- To adjust the seam of one or more lanes, click the Select tool , right-click the seam, and select one or more of the following options:
Split Segment: Select this option to split the seam into two segments at the location of the pointer.
Center Segment: Select this option to center the seam between the data above and below it.
Center All: Select this option to center the location of all seams between the data above and below them.
- To adjust one or more lanes manually, perform either of the following actions:
With the pointer tool, select the edge of a lane and move the edge in or out.
To apply adjustments to multiple lanes at the same time, use Control+Select to select the same edge on two or more lanes, and then move the edge in or out.
