Multiple computers in the same network domain can be used to support the proofing system. Proofer Client software is required at workstations used for remote proofer or controller administration. No software is required for simple file submission.
Proofer Client software
Manually install Proofer Client software at any client workstation that requires access to proofer or controller settings. (On the controller workstation, Proofer Client software is automatically installed as part of the Kodak Proofing Software installation.)
Maintain the Proofer Client software version on client workstations at the same version as the Controller software. To install or upgrade the software, you can either use the installation disc or use a network connection to access the appropriate Proofer Client installer.
Important: To allow Proofer Client access to hot folders, the Windows Firewall and antivirus exceptions lists need to include Program Files\Kodak\ProoferClient <version>\OpenConnectivityClient.exe
.
File submission via Proofer Client software
If hot folders are defined on the controller, you can use Proofer Client software to submit files—you simply drag the files onto the desired hot folder name in a Controller Viewer window. For more information, see the software user guide or help system.
File submission without Proofer Client software
Files can be submitted to proofing hot folders from any workstation in the network. Proofer Client software does not need to be installed. For more information, see the topics about exposing the hot folders from Windows-based or Mac OS X workstations.
Other system components at client workstations
If a spectrophotometer will be used to measure colors, also ensure that the latest driver software is installed for the device.
