Creating a Windows shortcut to expose a proofer hot folder
You can submit files to Kodak Proofing Software from any computer in the same network, even if Proofer Client software is not installed.
Requirements:
- Hot folder created in Kodak Proofing Software on the proofer controller workstation
- Network access to the proofer controller workstation
- At the client workstation, use your preferred method to go to
\\ControllerName
(or\\IP_address
).
The controller name must be exactly as listed in Proofer Finder. In some cases, you may need to include the domain nameproofers
.
Note: The User Name and Password are bothproofer
. - In the
HotFolders
directory, locate the desired hot folder. - Use your preferred method to create a shortcut for this hot folder and place it in a convenient location. For example, right-click the hot folder, and select Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).
Dragging files onto this shortcut processes the files and submits them to the proofer according to the hot folder settings.
Creating a Mac OS shortcut to expose a proofer hot folder
You can submit files to Kodak Proofing Software from any computer in the same network, even if Proofer Client software is not installed.
Requirements:
- Hot folder created in Kodak Proofing Software on the proofer controller workstation
- Network access to the proofer controller workstation
Note: Proofer Client software is not needed but may be present.
- In the Finder menu at the client computer, choose Go > Connect To Server.
- In the Server Address box, type
smb://<ControllerName>
(orsmb://<IP_address>
), and click Connect.

HotFolders
directory. - Drag the desired hot folder to the computer desktop to create a shortcut.
