When upgrading the primary server running on Windows 2016 operating system with Double-Take 8.2, perform the tasks listed in the specified order.

  1. Disconnect the Prinergy DB replication job on the primary server:
    1. Open Double-Take Console: Go to Start > All Applications > Double-Take Console, or double-click Console UI.exe in C:\Program Files\Vision Solutions\Double-Take\Console.
    2. Record licenses.
    3. From the Go menu, select Manage Jobs.
    4. Right-click the PrinergyDb job and select Stop.
  2. Upgrade the primary server.
  3. Upgrade the secondary (failover) server.
  4. Reconnect the PrinergyDB replication job:
    1. On the primary server, open Double-Take Console: Go to Start > All Applications > Double-Take Console, or double-click Console UI.exe in C:\Program Files\Vision Solutions\Double-Take\Console.
    2. From the Go menu, select Manage Jobs.
    3. Right-click on each of the jobs, PrinergyDB & PrinergyDBRestore, and delete.
      1. Note: the Double Take installation guide below, is an update to Double-take 8.4 (fixes an issue where DT doesn't start after server reboot). Double 8.2 will continue to work in Prinergy 9.5, but its highly recommended to update to 8.4.
      2. Before updating, please contact Carbonite Support with your 8.2 serial number, to ensure you are eligible and can retrieve a new Double-Take 8.4 license.

    5. Page 13 or under header: Creating an Oracle database replication set, create new jobs
    6. Configure both jobs, PrinergyDB & PrinergyDBRestore. Implement instruction at bottom of page 15 or under header: Configure database replication in Double-Take Console – Mirror, Verify & Orphaned File / Path Mapping)
    7. Click OK to save

Important reminder: do not start PrinergyDBRestore !!!!!!!!!

Note: After completing the upgrade of all servers, a failover test must be completed to ensure the hot standby support is working correctly.
