You can perform OPI on thin PDF files that contain transparent objects. Prinergy automatically uses the PostScript image replacement engine for PostScript input files and the PDF image replacement engine for PDF input files. PostScript files that contain references to PDF images are processed through both engines, in order to avoid PDF to PostScript conversion problems. The refine process template contains new options for handling transparency and OPI image replacement.
