A color representation scheme (or color space) in which the four fundamental colorants of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black are combined to create full-color images. Cyan, magenta and yellow are used because they act as perfect filters for red, green and blue, which are the component colors of visible light. Black is used to add detail and contrast.
