Top-level entities are any line, art, text, or other object that is not a die station (group or block).

Exclude Top Level is a setting that removes any objects in the die that are equal in size to the whole die. For example, if lines trace the outer edges of the die, Exclude Top Level omits those lines, and the size of your die is set only to the outer boundaries of the remaining die stations. If you set the substrate size of your dies by using such lines, turn off Exclude Top Level. When this setting is off, the software uses the size of the die from your file, not from the die stations, so you must set the size of your die correctly in your CAD creation software.

If you find that Pandora does not honor press sheet information in imported CAD files, it is because the Exclude Top Level setting is selected and Pandora is filtering out information such as press sheet, logos, dimension markings, customer information, and so on to make it easier for you to numerically align the printing area of the die to the gripper. To disable filtering in Pandora, perform the following actions:

  1. Launch Pandora.
  2. For Windows, select Edit > Preferences.
For Macintosh, select Pandora > Preferences.
  3. Click the Die Settings tab.
  4. Under Import Die Filters, clear the Exclude top level check box.
  5. Click OK.
Pandora no longer filters any line, art, text, press sheet, or other objects that are not in a die station.
