Reset
Resets the proofer profile to the default profile. The default profile is based on the media type for the hot folder or virtual printer.
Returns settings to the default. The default is based on the Simulation Space color set that you selected on the ICC Settings tab.
Simulation color space options
ICC Handling
Specifies whether to use ICC Profiles or Device Link profiles to describe the simulation color space.
It is recommended that you select Device Link. On the ICC Setting tab, when you clear the Use Input Profiles check box, you can select only Device Link.
Using an ICC source profile with the supplied media profiles will not necessarily give the same results as the supplied device links. Use device links wherever possible.
Simulation ICC Profile (list)
Lists the enabled ICC profiles that are assigned a category of simulation. Use Proofer Administrator to enable profiles and assign categories.
If ICC Handling is set to ICC Profiles, this profile transforms all objects from the input color space into the simulation color space. If ICC Handling is set to Device Link, this profile transforms any untransformed objects in the input color space, such as L*a*b* objects.
The Simulation ICC Profile option is turned off when you clear the Use Input Profiles check box on the ICC Setting tab.
Simulation Device Link (list)
Lists the enabled device link profiles that are assigned a category of simulation. Use Proofer Administrator to enable profiles and assign categories.
The selected device link describes the simulation color space. If you use a custom profile and a Certified Process, the profile must be signed.
Rendering Intent
Defines how to transform the file. Rendering intents are available only when ICC Handling is set to ICC Profiles. Select one of the following options:
Relative—transforms colors without simulating a paper tint. The Relative rendering intent clips out-of-gamut colors.
Absolute—transforms colors and simulates a paper tint. The Absolute rendering intent compresses out-of-gamut colors and maps them to the edge of the gamut.
Perceptual—transforms colors without simulating a paper tint. The Perceptual rendering intent compresses all colors to map them to the smaller color space. Use Perceptual for imposition media.
Preserve Black Channel
Preserves the black color recipe of the input file during the color transformation. Clearing this option allows the black channel to be transformed along with all other color channels. This option is available only when ICC Handling is set to ICC Profiles.
Preserve any CMYK Pure Black for Graphics
Preserves the entire range of the black channel for all vector objects. No color management is applied.
Preserve White and Black Colors for Graphics
Preserves all solid white and solid black vector objects. No color management is applied.
Halftone emulation
Use halftone set
Specifies which halftone screen set to emulate on the inkjet proof. For all default screening settings in the list, the default dot shape is Euclidean, and the default screen angles are cyan 105, magenta 75, yellow 0, and black 135. Alternately, select Custom Screening for more options.
Alternate screen set
Enables the alternate screen angles for the halftone emulation: cyan 105, magenta 45, yellow 90, and black 75. Use the alternate screen angles when moiré appears on the proof when using the default halftone screen sets. This option is unavailable for custom screening settings.
Halftone profile
Lists the enabled ICC profiles or ICC device link profiles assigned the halftone emulation category. Use Proofer Administrator to enable profiles and assign categories.
The selected halftone profile color manages the halftone emulation to simulate the target.
Set up halftone profile
Is used when creating a halftone profile for specific media or screen sets. You must also select simulation profiles, a proofer profile, and a rendering intent.
This option enables you to use the hot folder or virtual printer to print a profiling chart. You can then use a spectrophotometer and profiling software to measure the chart and create a halftone profile.
