One per proof

Creates a layout that adds a color bar to each proof on a sheet

One per sheet

Creates a layout that adds a color bar to each sheet, not to each proof

Automatic

Creates a layout that positions the color bar to maximize the imageable area. If it fits, it is positioned at the bottom; otherwise at the right, relative to the proof.

Top

Creates a layout that places the color bar at the top of the proof or sheet

Bottom

Creates a layout that places the color bar at the bottom of the proof or sheet

Left

Creates a layout that places the color bar at the left of the proof or sheet.

Note: When using an with inline spectrophotometer to measure the color bar, do not place the color bar on the left. Place the color bar on the top or bottom.

Right

Creates a layout that places the color bar at the right of the proof or sheet.

Note: When using an with inline spectrophotometer to measure the color bar, do not place the color bar on the right. Place the color bar on the top or bottom.

Color bar rotation

Enables you to rotate a color bar 180 degrees. Alternately you can turn off color bar rotation.

When using an X-Rite DTP41 or DTP45 spectrophotometer to measure color bars on Approval proofs, consider the position of the color bar and how the spectrophotometer reads the color bar. You want to measure the color bar without first cutting it from the proof. The following table provides an example of a proof with correct and incorrect rotation for a color bar in the Top position.

Note: The arrow indicates the measuring direction of the spectrophotometer.

Correct position and rotation for DTP41 and DTP45

Position is set to Top.

Rotation is set to 180 degrees.

Incorrect

Position is set to Top.

Rotation is set to 0 degrees.
