Publish the LPR port as a shared virtual printer so that you can print using an AdobePS printer from your Windows workstation to the Prinergy Evo virtual printer on the server.

  1. On the Prinergy Evo server computer, select Start > Settings > Printers > Add Printer.
  2. In the Add Printer Wizard, Local or Network Printer dialog box, select the Local Printer option. Click Next.
  3. Clear the Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer check box. Click Next.
  4. In the Select the Printer Port dialog box, select the Create a new port option.
  5. In the Type list, select Standard TCP/IP Port and click Next.
  6. In the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard dialog box, click Next.
  7. In the Add Port dialog box, Printer Name or IP Address box, type the IP address or computer name of the Prinergy Evo server computer.
  8. In the Port Name box, type the LPR IP virtual printer name.
    The port name in this dialog box will be the name of the port you are creating to connect to the Prinergy Evo LPR IP virtual printer. It is recommended that you use the same name as the Prinergy Evo LPR IP virtual printer.
  9. Click Next.
  10. In the Additional Port Information Required dialog box, select the Custom option.
  11. Click Settings.
  12. In the Configure Standard TCP/IP Port Monitor dialog box, Protocol area, select the LPR option.
  13. In the Queue Name box, type the Prinergy Evo virtual printer name. It must exactly match the name of the Prinergy Evo LPR IP virtual printer that you created in Step 1:Creating a virtual printer in Prinergy Evo.
  14. Set the remaining parameters as required.
  15. Click OK.
  16. Click Next.
  17. Click Finish.
  18. In the Add Printer Wizard dialog box, select Generic from the Manufacturers list and click Generic/Text Only from the Printers list. Click Next.
  19. In the Use Existing Driver dialog box, select Keep existing driver (recommended). Click Next.
  20. In the Name Your Printer dialog box, Printer name box, type the name you wish to use for this temporary printer. Click Next.
  21. In the Printer Sharing dialog box, select Do not share this printer. Click Next.
  22. Follow the remaining instructions in the wizard to create the LPR port.
