You want to publish the AppleTalk port as a shared virtual printer so that you can print directly from your desktop software applications on a Windows-based computer to the virtual printer.
Note: AppleTalk is not supported by Microsoft Windows Server 2008. It may still be installed using a third-party AppleTalk protocol software, and used for font downloading, AFP sharing, and setting up virtual printers.

  1. Publishing a Prinergy Evo AppleTalk virtual printer.
  2. On the Prinergy Evo server computer, select Start > Settings > Printers > Add Printer.
  3. In the Add Printer wizard, Local or Network Printer dialog box, select the Local Printer option.
  4. Clear the Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer check box. Click Next.
  5. In the Select the Printer Port dialog box, select the Create a New Port option.
  6. In the Type list, select the AppleTalk Printing Devices options and click Next.
  7. In the Available AppleTalk Printing Devices dialog box, browse for and select a Prinergy Evo AppleTalk Virtual Printer.
  8. In the Add Printer dialog box, select the default printer. Click Next.
  9. In the Name your Printer dialog box, Printer Name box, type the name of the Prinergy Evo AppleTalk virtual printer. Click Next.
  10. In the Printer Sharing dialog box, Share as box, type the share name for the AppleTalk virtual printer. For example, Prinergy Evo AppleTalk Printer. Click Next.
  11. Follow the remaining instructions in the wizard to create the AppleTalk port.
