Accept Calibration

Finishes the Precision Color Calibration Wizard. The Accept calibration option is available only when the numbers in the Measurement Results column are smaller than the numbers in the Tolerance column.

Optimize Calibration (print and measure new chart)

Continues the calibration process to try to achieve lower numbers in the Measurement Results column. Select this option to print and measure a new chart.
You can optimize a calibration when the numbers in the Measurement Results column are smaller or larger than the numbers in the Tolerance column.

Discard Measurements (reprint and remeasure last chart)

Deletes the last set of measurement numbers and lets you reprint and remeasure the chart. Use this option when the Measured numbers appear unusually high, which can happen when there is a problem with the measuring device or a smudge on the chart.

Recommendation

Displays the calibration option that Kodak Proofing Software recommends based on the measurement result numbers, as well as a brief explanation. The options are to accept the
calibration, optimize the calibration, or disregard the measurement numbers due to error.

ΔE94 and ΔEab

Specifies whether to display the measurement results in ΔE94, or ΔE94 and ΔEab. All measurement results are taken in ΔE94.
However, you can choose to also display the measurement results in ΔEab. The ΔEab numbers are for information only. Select ΔE94 to display the measurement results only in ΔE94. Select ΔEab to display the measurement results in ΔE94 and ΔEab.

Measurement Results

Displays the measurement results and tolerances in ΔE94, in a table, for example:

Measured

ΔE94

Measured

ΔEab

Tolerance

ΔE94

Maximum

<number>

<number>

4.0

Average

<number>

<number>

3.0

The Measured ΔE94 column displays the maximum and average measurements for the reference chart, and the Tolerance ΔE94 column displays the maximum and average tolerances.
The numbers in the Measured ΔE94 column must be smaller than the numbers in the Tolerance ΔE94 column for the calibration to be accepted.
When you select the ΔEab button, a Measured ΔEab column also displays in the table. This column displays the maximum and average measurements in ΔEab for your information.

Change Tolerance

Enables you to change the Current Average and the Current Maximum tolerance numbers for the media configuration. Before you can change the tolerance numbers, you must type the Proofer Administrator password. The default password is prooferAdmin.

Larger tolerance numbers allow the proofer to reproduce color less consistently. Smaller tolerance numbers ensure that the proofer reproduces color consistently. However, when a tolerance number is too low, it may be difficult to calibrate the proofer. Kodak provides default tolerance numbers to get you started, and you can change the numbers to meet the needs of your shop.

Automated

Puts the Precision Color Calibration wizard in automated mode, which means the Calibration wizard can finish without any input from you. An automated spectrophotometer, such as an inline spectrophotometer or i1i0 spectrophotometer, is required.

Manual

Puts the Precision Color Calibration wizard in manual mode, which means that you must interact with the Calibration wizard to complete the wizard
