This issue can occur if color management is turned off for the hot folder, and you submit input files that contain embedded profiles and L*a*b* spot colors for which no definition exists in a color library.

The software needs a proofer profile to convert the L*a*b* spot colors to the proofer color space, but because color management is turned off, no proofer profile is specified. As a result, the software substitutes a proofer profile that turns the proof pink.

Kodak Proofing Software does not include tools that you can use to remove embedded profiles from the input files. However, you can apply the following workaround.

  1. In the Color Database Editor, create a user library in L*a*b* color space, and add the name of the spot color and its L*a*b* recipe.
  2. Edit the hot folder or virtual printer, and select the user library.
