Note: KODAK does not recommend configuring KODAK Proofing Software (KPS) with a remote proofer. The KPS controller or KPS VM should be running in the same location as any connected proofer. While using a remote proofer offers convenience, it's crucial to consider potential security risks and challenges associated with remote access (network drops, etc). KODAK does not support this setup and recommends purchasing a local KPS controller or KPS VM if you are planning to connect proofers from multiple locations.

  • Proofers—an MPI proofer controller can run up to four supported Epson printers, depending on the license.
  • If upgrading or adding an MPI proofer—requirements include the Epson printer driver, utility software for the printer model and controller operating system, and the latest device firmware available on the Epson Web site.
  • If adding a Matchprint Inkjet proofer and/or proofing media—if available for the applicable printer model and media type, you can download bundles of color content files (media configuration, proofer profile) from your Kodak service and support portal. Otherwise, you create a custom media configuration in KPS and use a tool such as Kodak ColorFlow software to create the profile.
  • USB connectivity to KPS is not supported. Proofers must have a network connection to function properly with KPS.
