TIFF Assembler Plus is on a new development path within the Kodak Software Division (KSD).

For some time TAP software development has been done by the Kodak Flexo Packaging Division (FPD) and been focused on the requirements of Flexcel NX media. FPD is now migrating to a separate company called Miraclon, and the Kodak Software Division (KSD) has taken over TAP software development to meet KSD requirements.

Miraclon will continue to develop a separate version of TAP for Flexcel NX functionality. Going forward, support for Flexcel DigiCap NX and HyperFlex NX screening will be available only in the Miraclon version of TAP and has been removed from the KSD version.

KSD has released TAP version 4.2.1, which represents the baseline for future KSD development.

The only delta between 4.2.0 and 4.2.1 is that DigiCap NX and HyperFlex NX functionality has been removed. There is no new functionality.

  • New KSD sales to non-Flexcel NX users will ship TAP 4.2.1.
  • Existing non-Flexcel NX customers using 4.2.0 are not required to update TAP 4.2.1, as there is no new functionality.
  • Existing Flexcel NX customers must continue to use TAP 4.2.0—or the upcoming Miraclon release of TAP—in order to maintain Flexcel NX screening functionality.
