Preview mode on either Windows or Mac OS can be used to set or edit a separation's Dot Enlargement tags. The tag setting is passed along in the TIFF data that will be processed and applied upon output via layout mode on a Windows system.

Note: Multiple separations can be set or edited at the same time.

  1. Make options available for adding or editing tags in preview mode—in the Tags preferences, select Allow editing of tags in Preview mode.
  2. Open a file or separation files in Preview mode.
  3. In the Inventory panel's Separations list, select the check box of each separation that requires the same Dot Enlargement setting.
  4. Click in the Dot column and select the setting required for the selected separations.
  5. Repeat as needed to tag any additional separations.
  6. When you are done working on these files in Preview mode, your next step depends on whether the job needs more work or is ready for processing. You can save the tagged files to a folder or hot folder using any of the following options:
    • If the Tags preferences option Enable save to predefined folder is selected and specifies a Folder location, select File > Save to predefined folder.
    • To overwrite the original files with the tagged files, select File > Save.
    • To save the tagged files to another location, select Save As.
    • If you want to continue working on this job in layout mode at the same workstation, see Switching to layout mode.
