Online license
Online license service is a convenient and safe way to manage entitlement of Prinergy Tools through your network without additional security hardware.
This version of Prinergy Tools supports the Standalone License and local service licensing methods. After being activated on a computer:
- The Standalone licensing method can be used offline, but can continue to be used only by regular network authorization. A Standalone license can be migrated between multiple seats, but is not optimized for sharing and requires licenses to be released from the previous workstation. Illustrator will have to be restarted after either Release or Activate. Standalone licensing is not recommended for license sharing.
- Local Service Licensing is designed to facilitate sharing, and doesn't require licenses being released on individual workstations. Note that if you have hit the maximum number of seats allowed, there is no dynamic way to swap a current Active license to another seat. If want to enable licensing on another workstation, you will have to Quit Illustrator on a currently licensed workstation to release the license, and then new workstation will have to launch Illustrator to Activate the license.
