Your customer has changed their mind prior to final output, and would like the seven color job converted to a six color job. PDF pages will be refined again, and spot colors will be mapped.
The following procedures describe how to complete this activity.

View color separations

  1. Select the Separations view. Open and view all separations associated with PrintBuyersGuide A Front 1 (7 Separations).
  2. From the View menu, choose Visible Columns.
  3. In the Separations Columns section, enable the Content option. Click OK.
    Note: There are seven separations—CMYK + three spot colors. Each separation is identified as Has Page Content.

Refine PDF pages again to map spot color

  1. Select the Pages view.
  2. In the Pages pane, select the four Print Buyers Guide PDF pages.
  3. Right-click any selected PDF page and choose the process template: Refine > Refine > 2ndRef-MapColors
  4. In the Start Process dialog box, click the Color Mapping button.
  5. In the Color Mappings window, select PANTONE 355 C.
  6. From the Output Selected As list, choose Convert to Process. Click OK.
  7. In the Start Process dialog box, Click OK.

View color separations again

  1. Select the Separations view. Open and view all separations associated with PrintBuyersGuide A Front 1 (7 Separations).
    Note: There are still seven separations—CMYK + three spot colors. Each separation is identified as Has Page Content. with the exception of PANTONE 355 C which is identified as Empty.

Resolve colors

Before outputting separations for final output, the color separations should be updated to reflect the color mapping change. This step is only necessary if PDF pages have already been assigned to an imposition plan prior to color mapping.

  1. In the Separations view, select PrintBuyersGuide (1 Signature).
  2. From the Edit menu, choose Set Initial Separations.
  3. In the Set Initial Separations dialog box, Click OK.
  4. View the updated Separations view. Note that PANTONE 355 C is now removed from the separations list.

Delete the imposition proof process template

  1. From the Tools menu, choose Process Template Editor.
  2. From the Imposition Output group, open the Virtual Proof group.
  3. Right-click your process template XX_Imposed VPS Proof and select Delete. The process template is deleted.
  4. Close the Process Template Editor.
  5. Close the XX_Imposition_Proof_PT Job Manager.
