You need to create a refine process template for a specific customer. This customer's job will be ongoing with files being received intermittently throughout a long period of time. You want to create a refine process template that will be used only for this customer.

Create a new job and set job attributes

  1. If it is not already open, start Prinergy Workshop.
  2. In Job Finder, right-click your main group, and choose New Job.
  3. Type the job name XX_Create_Refine_PT (where <XX> represents your initials).
  4. Open the Options section in the Create New Job dialog box.
  5. Place a check mark beside the Job Attributes option.
  6. In the Due Date Time section, click the Proof > Edit button.
  7. Set a date and time of: Month: 12_Day: 10_Year: 2009_Time_12:00_PM. Click OK.
  8. Click the Final Output > Edit button.
  9. Set a date and time of: Month: 12_Day: 12_Year: 2009_Time_10:00_AM. Click OK.
  10. In the Set Job Attributes dialog box, click OK.
  11. In the Create New Job dialog box, click Create.
  12. From the Edit menu in Job Manager, choose Edit Job Attributes.
  13. Change the Final Output date to: Month: 12_Day: 12_Year: 2009_Time_9:00_AM.

Create a refine process template

  1. From the Tools menu, choose Process Template Editor.
  2. Right-click the Refine group, and choose New Process Template Group.
  3. Name the group XXRefineGroup (where <XX> represents your initials).
  4. Right-click your refine group XXRefineGroup and choose New Process Template.
  5. From the File menu, select Save.
  6. Name the process template XXRefineTemplate (where <XX> represents your initials).
  7. Click the Create Process Template button.
  8. In the XXRefineTemplate process template window, clear the Trap option.
  9. From the File menu, select Save.
  10. Close the process template.
  11. Close Process Template Editor.
  12. Minimize the Job Manager window.

Copy an input file to the job folder

  1. From your workstation, locate: Prinergy Activity Practice Files / Act_09_Create Refine PT / Input File
  2. Restore Job Manager.
  3. Open the Input File folder. 
  4. Drag the Wells Brochure.ps to the Job Manager's Input Files area.
  5. In the Add Input Files dialog box that appears, under Options, clear the Process Selected Files Using Process Template check box.
  6. Click OK.
    Your file is copied to the UserDefinedFolders folder.
  7. Minimize the Job Manager window.

Add and refine the input file using the Refine process template

  1. Right-click the Job Folder button in the lower left corner of Job manager and select Open Job Folder in File Browser.
  2. Locate and select the input file UserDefinedFolders / Input Files / Wells Brochure.ps.
  3. Drag the input file to the Refine > XXRefineGroup > XXRefineTemplate process template in the Process Templates pane in Job Manager.
    Note: This is a quick alternative to selecting Add Input Files from the File menu and then selecting the process template in the Add Input Files dialog box.
  4. In the Add Input Files dialog box, click OK.
  5. In the Start Process dialog box, click OK.
