You want to color convert every spot color in a file to process CMYK. You want to achieve this conversion during the refine process.

Refine PDF pages with an edited refine process template

1. In the Input Files pane, right-click Print Buyers Guide.pdf , and choose the process template: Refine > Refine > 1stRef-Normz
2. In the Start Process dialog box, click the Edit Process Template button.
3. Open the Spot Color Handling section.
4. Place a check mark beside Enable Spot Color Mapping.
5. Select the option Map All Spot Colors to Process. Click OK.
6. In the Start Process dialog box, click OK.
   Note: Editing this process template is temporary. When you modify a process template in this way, any changes to the process template are discarded when the process is complete. The changes do not affect the original process template and are not saved with the job. You cannot redo the same process without making the same changes to the process template again.

Verify new color information

1. View the Page Colors column in Job Manager. Note that all page colors have been converted to CMYK.
2. Right-click Print Buyers Guide.p3.pdf and select Get Info.
3. Make note of the revised color information displayed in this window.
4. Close the Get Info dialog box.
