A Prinergy system includes one primary server and any number of secondary, tertiary, or file servers.

The following table describes each type of Prinergy server and identifies the software installed on it, the operating system requirements, and whether it stores jobs.

Primary server

Render station

A secondary server that runs high-resolution rendering software and is connected to an output device.

Notes:

  • Render stations are not sold as part of new Prinergy configurations since January 2013. Render stations remain as legacy configurations in existing Prinergy systems, but are considered to be secondary servers.
  • Each secondary server running JTPs within a Prinergy system is required to be licensed by a Secondary Server Distribution License (015-01280A-127).
