RBA supports custom fields that you create in Workshop.
When you create a custom field in Workshop, you automatically create the following RBA capabilities:

  • A property of the same name on every Job object. You can then use the custom field like any other property— for example, use it in the Branch flow action, send it in an e-mail message, and so on.
  • The ability to use a change to the field as an event
  • The ability to set the value of custom fields in RBA with the Set Custom Fields action.

Note: If a user changes the value of the custom field in Workshop, the change does not appear in RBA.

Combining custom fields with process template overrides

You can combine custom fields with process template overrides to create powerful rules with loop flow control actions. For example, you can create a custom field called xxx in Workshop, add the Set Custom Fields action to a rule, and set the value for xxx to yyy. When you create a rule that contains the Perform Loose Page Output action, override the ICC Profile box in the process template.
