The process of implementing a digital flexo workflow requires successful completion of the following procedures:

  1. Install the Kodak ThermoFlex platesetter and set up mask exposure. Resource: Kodak service representative.
  2. Determine media UV exposure times, washout, drying and post processing. Determine minimum mask exposure values (minimum dot value). Resource: media representative.
  3. Create bump curves and tone reproduction curves—measure step-test plates and printed samples to fingerprint tonal response and determine Tone Reproduction Curves. Resource: Kodak flexo specialist.
  4. Set up distortion compensation. Resource: Kodak flexo specialist.
  5. Determine optimum screen set. Configure screen sets, which may include configuring document screening, Kodak DotShop software, and IS screening. Resources: Kodak applications and flexo specialists.
  6. Determine Maxtone software and Kodak HyperFlex resolution-enhancement software settings. Resource: Kodak flexo specialist.
  7. Determine Kodak DigiCap screening software settings. Resource: Kodak flexo specialist.
  8. (Option) Configure seamless screening—ThemoFlex Wide II option. Resource: Kodak flexo specialist.
  9. Troubleshooting. Resources: Kodak media representative, Kodak service representative, Kodak flexo specialist.

This user guide proceeds systematically through each of these steps, enabling field representatives and customers to successfully implement all aspects of a digital flexo workflow.
