Because the dominant colors require the maximum (30°) separation, there are two possible choices for 30° angle combinations: 7.5°–37.5°–67.5° and 22.5°–52.5°–82.5°. Angle sets orient cyan, magenta, and black to these angles. Yellow is then offset by 15° to the dominant angles. In offset printing, black is normally run at 45°, to minimize the stair-stepping effect that can occur in diagonal lines in images. In flexo, it is general practice to run black at the shifted angle closest to 45° (for example, 37.5° or 52.5°). The yellow and black angles normally result in angle combinations such as CMYK 67.5°–7.5°–82.5°–37.5° and CMYK 22.5°–82.5°–7.5° –52.5°. The Prinergy software provides a wide range of preconfigured angle sets, using different combinations of these angles.
