Deleting variables

Variables are deleted in the Manage Variables Editor.

1. To open the Manage Variables Editor, in Rule Builder, from the Edit menu, select Manage Variables.
2. In the Manage Variables Editor, perform the following steps.
   1. Select the appropriate tab for the type of variable that you want to delete. Select Global Variables, Rule Set Variables, or Temporary Variables.
   2. From the list of variables, select the variable that you want to delete, and click Remove Variable.
   3. Click OK.

Note: If you try to delete a global variable that is in use in a rule set, the operation fails with a message that the variable is in use and cannot be deleted. Before the variable can be deleted, all references to it must be removed from all rule sets.
