SmartBoard is used to prepare the PDF files that you want to submit to a Digimaster or NexPress device. SmartBoard embeds a job ticket in the PDF file that describes how to print the file.
Before you can run the Kodak SmartBoard Document Mastering software, you must obtain a dongle for the product. To purchase a license and a dongle, contact your service representative.
SmartBoard runs only on Windows operating systems.
- For each PDF file that you want to submit to the Digimaster, open the SmartBoard job ticket and make sure that the Job Device Type option is set to Monochrome.
When you prepare and submit a PDF file to the Digimaster, make sure that you are aware of the following information:
- If you refine a PDF file that already has a SmartBoard job ticket, Prinergy removes all of the SmartBoard parameters assigned to it and cannot submit the PDF file to the Digimaster.
- You can submit only input files to the Digimaster—not loose proof output or imposed output.
- SmartBoard can create monochrome job tickets for the Digimaster and color job tickets for the NexPress. Prinergy supports only SmartBoard monochrome job tickets to be submitted to the Digimaster. If you submit a SmartBoard color job ticket to the NexPress, the color job ticket will be ignored.
