Set up digital printers as workflow processors so that you can use these in Workshop.

To add a device that supports the JDF Bi-Directional Communication licensed option, you must add the device in the Setup software. For information, see Setting up a digital device (press) for JDF bi-directional connectivity in the Prinergy Workshop User Guide.

To add a legacy-type device, where digital output will be performed via the legacy method in which you can only select the number of copies and assign a JDF job ticket but cannot edit this job ticket, add the device using Managed Connections (in Prinergy Administrator). See Adding a digital printer and also the Prinergy Digital Direct / Digital Submit Configuration Guide for more information about the setup and configuration of the legacy method.

For more information about digital printers, see Digital printers in the Prinergy Workflow User Guide and also the Prinergy Digital Print User Guide.

If your Prinergy server is on a network that uses a proxy server, you must bypass the proxy server in order to connect devices to Prinergy.
To do so, go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings, and select the the Bypass proxy server for local addresses check box.
Note: You can also access this check box from the Tools menu in your Internet Explorer browser (Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings).
