Adding a UNIX server to the HOSTS file of the other servers

Add the IP address and name of a new server to the HOSTS file of the Prinergy primary server.
If your network has a Domain Name System (DNS) server, do not use this procedure. Instead, add the IP address and name of the new server to the DNS server.

1. Use a text editor to open C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\HOSTS.
2. Add a line that identifies the server's IP address and name, in this format:
   <IP address><host name>
   where <IP address> is the IP address of the server
   where <host name> is the DNS name of the server
3. Save and close the file.
   Do not accidentally add a file name extension, such as .txt.
4. Repeat the procedure on each server in the Prinergy system.

The changes take effect immediately. You do not need to restart Prinergy.
