Overview

Why you should complete this activity

This activity provides an introduction to using Packaging Layout Automation that enables you to automate the creation of packaging layouts. 
In this activity, you will learn how to create a layout using an available layout ticket, and how to send the layout to Prinergy Workshop for automatic job creation and processing. 
Packaging Layout Automation works with Kodak Pandora packaging layout software and Rules-Based Automation (RBA) that run behind the scenes to prepare press-ready layouts for package and label printing.

Audience

Operators, or anyone who will use the Prinergy Workflow Packaging Automation Expansion Pack software together with Packaging Layout Automation regularly, should complete this activity.

Approximately 10–15 minutes

What you'll need

Make sure that your site administrator has added Pandora packaging layout software to the application list in Prinergy Workshop.
For this activity, locate the following job files:

  • Packaging Activity Source Files/Hawaii Label/Hawaii.p1.pdf
  • Packaging Activity Source Files/Hawaii Label/Hawaii.cf2

The instructor will tell you the location of the Packaging Activity Source Files folder.

Activity specifications

If you are confident that you can complete the activity on your own, view the following naming conventions and required settings.

Naming convention

  • XX_PLA1 (Where XX is your initials)
  • XX_PLA2 (Where XX is your initials)

Important: If you are using the translated version of the Pandora software in French, Spanish or German, remember to use a comma (,) for fractional measurements instead of a period (.). For example, English = 456.7 French/Spanish/German = 456,7
