  1. From the Tools menu, select Automated Page Assignment Editor. Notice that the window now contains entries for every artwork position, based on the imported layout.
  2. Using the Shift key, select all rows appearing in the APA Editor window. In the Move Rows area, click Remove.
  3. In the Move Rows area, click Add.
  4. Position your cursor in the first cell of the Refined File Name column, and in the Insert Wild Cards area, click Match Either.
  5. Select the cell in the Artwork Set Name/Prefix column, and in the Insert Wild Cards area, click All Artwork Sets.
  6. Select the cell in the Position column. Delete the number "1" and type an asterisk (*) An asterisk  (*)  tells the APA feature to position one file to all page positions in a layout.
    Note: Open the online help, select the Workshop User Guide, and locate: APA > About Rules for APA. View the topic regarding assigning 1-up artwork to All positions  (*), Contiguous (..), and Noncontiguous (,) using position wild cards. These wildcards will define how 1-up artwork is to be positioned in a layout.
  7. In the Layer column, leave the layer as 1. This column is used for versioning.
  8. Close the APA Editor. In the Save Before Opening a New APA File dialog box, select Yes.
  9. In the Save APA File As... dialog box, click Save to save the APA file as Job.v2.apa. This file will be automatically saved to the Control folder located in your job folder XX_APA_All (where XX is your initials).
