  • Listen: Pay close attention to a student's needs. Listen carefully to be sure you understand exactly what they are saying or asking. If you are not sure, ask for clarification.
  • Be patient and non-judgemental:: Be patient and encouraging while people learn. Create an environment where people feel comfortable and confident, so they can experiment, ask questions, and learn through trial and error.
  • Support different learning styles: People learn in different ways (theory-based learners, visual learners, hands-on learners). Support students by directing them to learning tools that match their various learning styles.
  • Give feedback: Acknowledge strengths and areas for improvement. Encouragement increases confidence, while constructive input increases skill level.
