Before the Prinergy system can start processing jobs in failover mode, you must check and update the failover preparations.

  • You have completed the preparation steps in Preparing for Failover.
  • You have switched to EPM failover mode.
  • The Prinergy software is running.
  1. Add and redistribute the JTPs to match the primary server configuration, based on the information you recorded in Redistributing the JTPs.
Note: This needs to be done only once. The JTPs that you set up now will be retained through subsequent failovers.
  2. Identify any changes to the process templates since the last daily copy, and manually edit any process templates that need to be updated.
  3. Identify any references in the process templates to JTPs (not pools) that are located only on the original primary server. Edit the process templates to refer instead to generic pools or new versions of the JTPs that you created on the EPM server.
  4. Identify any references to mark sets or ICC profiles that are located only on the original primary server. Edit the process templates to refer instead to the new locations where you placed the files in Moving Referenced Files.
  5. Add nonstandard global colors (if required), based on the information you recorded in Updating Color Information.
  6. Check that you have installed all the fonts needed for jobs that will be processed from the EPM server while it is in failover mode—see Installing Fonts.
