Prinergy Hot Standby allows Prinergy systems to continue to process jobs and produce plates after the primary server fails.
A Hot Standby server is a Prinergy secondary server (or render station) that is configured for Hot Standby mode and has all of the primary server's Prinergy software components installed on it. These components include the Prinergy executables, libraries, configuration files, and the Oracle database.
About Double-Take Software
Double-Take is the third party software application that is used to implement the hot standby functionality in Prinergy. It was originally create by a company called Vision Solutions. It was since been sold to Carbonite.
On Windows Server 2012 R2, Double-Take version 7.1 is used. On Windows Server 2016, Double-Take 8.2 is used. In version 7.1 the main user interface is called Double-Take Console. With 8.2 that has been changed to Carbonite Replication Console.
This document it will refer to them both as simply Double-Take Console.
