Description

Pan tool 

Activate the Pan tool to be able to move the image. The pointer becomes a hand tool that you can use to drag the image in the main window. 

When the other tools are active, hold down the space bar to enable panning.

Measure tool 

Activate the Measure tool to be able to measure distances on the image. The pointer becomes a cross and the Measurement palette appears. You can measure a straight line in any direction. 
Press the Shift key to constrain the Measure tool to vertical or horizontal measurements.
To change the measurement unit or the number of digits to the right of the decimal point in measurement values:

  • In Mac OS, click Prinergy VPS > Preferences > Measurement.
  • In Windows, click Edit > Preferences > Measurement.

In Mac OS, when the other tools are active, hold down the Option key to enable measuring.

Zoom tool 

Activate the Zoom tool to be able to zoom in and out on the image. 

When you first select the Zoom tool, the pointer changes to the magnifying glass with a plus sign inside and you can zoom in. Click in the main window to magnify the image.
To zoom out, when the Zoom tool is active, hold down the shift key. The magnifying glass now has a minus sign inside . Click in the main window to reduce the size of the image.
When you have zoomed in or out as far as possible, the center of the magnifying glass is blank
When the other tools are active, and to enable zooming in:

  • In Mac OS, hold down .
  • In Windows, hold down Ctrl.

When the other tools are active, and to enable zooming out:

  • In Mac OS, hold down  + Shift.
  • In Windows, hold down Ctrl+Shift.
Densitometer tool 

Activate the Densitometer tool to be able to display the ink density at any given point or over any given region of an image.

  • At a given point:
    When you make the Densitometer tool active, it defaults to measuring the ink density of the pixel located at the tip of the densitometer cursor.
    Move the cursor to any given pixel. 
    Tip: Use the tool shortcut keys to zoom on the pixel you want to measure.
  • Over a given area:
    When the Densitometer tool is active, drag to draw a marquee over any given area of an image to measure the ink density within that area. The marquee can be resized by positioning the cursor over one of its edges and dragging that edge.
    Click outside the marquee to reset the Densitometer tool to its default mode.

For either measurement, the corresponding ink density appears in the Separations palette as a percentage relative to the selected region.

Ink Coverage dialog box 

Activate the Ink Coverage dialog box to be able to measure the amount of ink that will be required per press sheet.
When the Ink Coverage dialog box is active, select a file for preview:

  • Click Add to bring the file into the Preview Files window.
  • Click Calculate Now to see the values in the Ink Coverage window.
