Object selection

To discard or retrieve an object, you must first select the object. In some cases you can simply click on the desired object to select it.
Note: If you select an object in a layer and then hide that layer, the selected object is no longer visible. When you display the layer again, the object is no longer selected. As well, you cannot select an object on a hidden layer.
When in the Input <originalfile>.pdf or Input <revisedfile>.pdf layer, you can discard or retrieve a selected object without that object ever disappearing from the Input <originalfile>.pdf  or Input <revisedfile>.pdf layer. The advantage of this is that you can see all objects from a given input file at once, regardless of whether those objects have been included in the merge file or discarded. The Output and Discarded sublayers continue to be updated accordingly to reflect the current state of all discarded and retrieved objects

• Selecting multiple objects
• Selecting an object when it is one of several objects stacked one on top of the other
• Deselecting a single object from a group of selected objects
• Deselecting a group of objects
