After PDF Merge completes the merge process and generates the temporary merge file, the merge file appears in the Adobe Acrobat window. In the upper-left corner of the file, an Information , Warning , or Error  icon appears.

If a Warning or Error icon appears instead of an Information icon, the dialog box opens automatically and one or more of the following warning or error messages may appear:

Inputs print different inks.

One file contains colors that are not contained in the other file.

Inputs were trapped with different pattern flattening.

Different pattern flattening settings caused traps to be created differently for the two files. Traps may be grouped differently between the original and revised file.

Inputs were trapped with different text grouping.

Merge includes Heidelberg traps from <file name>.

Traps included in the specified file were created using the Heidelberg Trap Editor. On merge, PDF Merge converts any Heidelberg traps into regular objects; they are longer seen as traps and you cannot edit them with the Heidelberg Trap Editor.
As well, when a trap is converted into a regular object, it is no longer associated with the object that it originally trapped, and it appears in one of the object sublayers rather than in the Output Kodak Traps sublayer. When you discard the object to which the trap was originally associated, the trap remains in Output and is not automatically discarded.

Insufficient available memory to merge pages.

The workstation may not have enough available memory to generate the temporary merge file.
Free some memory on the workstation and try the merge again.
