Pages are assigned to page positions within a page set, either before or after an imposition plan is registered and linked to the page set. You can change the imposition plan without affecting page position assignments, and you can reassign page positions or replace page content on page sets without affecting imposition. A page can be assigned to more than one page position.
Prinergy automatically adds a page set when you import an imposition plan, but you can also add a page set manually.
Page sets that are independent from imposition plans allow for last-minute press changes and output of different parts of jobs to different devices.
Typically, you add a separate page set for each signature that will be printed differently than the others, for example, on different paper stock. For example, you could add one page set for the cover of a publication and a separate page set for the inside pages.
To add a page set:
- In Job Manager, from the File menu, select Add Page Set.
