Prinergy job data can be stored on a tertiary server—a computer that is connected to Prinergy but not running Prinergy software. It is recommended to use a DELL server with appropriate RAID storage purchased from Kodak for this purpose. Alternatively, you can use most Windows and UNIX-based third-party storage servers for this purpose at your own risk. Third-party storage servers must fulfill the minimum requirements listed below and need to be configured appropriately to support a minimum of 30 MB/s bandwidth per server. For example, a tertiary server with 90 MB/s bandwidth would be adequate for a Prinergy system with three servers.

Windows Tertiary Server Requirements

  • Supported Windows versions: 2012 R2, 2016, 2019
  • SMB/CIFS share created on RAID volume
  • Gigabit Ethernet (minimum)
  • ARAXI account (or other account Prinergy is using)—must have full administrator rights to the share

UNIX Tertiary Server Requirements

  • SMB/CIFS share created on RAID volume
  • Gigabit Ethernet (minimum)
  • ARAXI account (or other account Prinergy is using)—must have full administrator rights to the share

Note: NFS is not supported. See the Prinergy System Administration Guide for setup guidelines.

Note: Apple Mac OS X-based and macOS-based Xserve servers are not supported.

Kodak does not qualify or test specific third-party storage solutions to be used with Prinergy Workflow systems as tertiary job homes or remote storage. it is the responsibility of the customer's system administrator and IT department to establish and support connectivity between third-party storage solutions and other systems on the network. Kodak is unable to assist with networking questions or troubleshoot issues associated with third-party solutions.

Note: Issues related to read/write and/or network performance will be investigated by testing with jobs located within job homes on platforms provided by Kodak.
