Set up communication between Prinergy and the EFI Fiery digital front end.
Check that Prinergy supports the software version of your digital press front end. See supported digital presses.
If you have several EFI Fiery servers that are running different digital presses, you must perform these steps for each system.
If you have a printer group defined on EFI Central, you can create a connection to EFI Central.
- Make sure that the 8010 TCP port is open between Prinergy and the EFI Fiery server.
EFI Fiery is supported with both Legacy and New connection method.
Legacy Method: In Prinergy Administrator, add the digital press. On the Managed Connections menu, click Add Connection, and select the type of digital press. Type the server name or IP address and press speed for the digital press. The digital press is listed in Digital Submit, Digital Direct, and Workshop.
New JTE Method: In Setup, add the digital press. On the Setup menu, under Equipment > Digital Device, click Add Connection, and select the type of digital press. Type the server name or IP address and press speed for the digital press. The digital press is being added and listed in Setup, Workshop and Track.- (Optional) To create a connection to an EFI Central printer group, in the Device Name box, enter the JDF DeviceID of a printer group that is defined on EFI Central.
Find the JDF DeviceID in the Fiery Central Configure utility in the JDF dialog box (Server > JDF) or use the printer group names found in Command Workstation.
Note that the host/server name will be the same for every printer group. If you leave the Device Name box empty, the EFI standard connection is not affected. - Give Prinergy access to the EFI Fiery server so that Prinergy can track audits. On the EFI Fiery server, add the user account ARAXI or enable the guest account. The default password for the Araxi account is ARAXI.
