The most commonly used method for distortion compensation is vector scaling. Vector scaling does not randomize the removal of pixels, so all straight lines remain straight. This is, of course, a drawback if the files contain Copydot data, as artifact lines can appear in halftone dot rows after scaling. Most flexo printers prefer to use vector scaling for flexo distortion.
