Experience has shown that pixel feathering as a result of resampling has a neglible effect on the quality of processed LAMS flexo plates and no discernable effect on the quality of final printed samples. In blind viewing tests, flexo specialists have been unable to distinguish undistorted print samples from resampled print samples. See examples below.
The samples were imaged on a Prinergy Powerpack workflow system. Plates were imaged on a ThermoFlex LAMS device on .067" (1,7 mm) solvent wash media. Samples were printed on a narrow-web press on coated stock.

Note: 4 pt serif type is considered extremely small for flexo. FIRST specifies a minimum type size of 6 pt for narrow web paper.
