This step is optional. For information about supported clients and installation options, see the Guide to Printing Using Xerox Production Print Services, available from the Xerox web site.

  • Insert the Xerox FreeFlow Print Manager CD into the CD-ROM drive on the Prinergy primary server, and follow the prompts.
    If the installer does not start automatically, locate the CD drive and manually start the installer.

Add printers

  1. Open an existing printer.disc file, or create a new one with the Printer Registration Tool.
  2. Start the Printer Registration Tool:
    • In Windows, from the Start menu, select Programs > Xerox Applications > FreeFlow Print Manager Tool Suite <version> > Printer Registration.
    • In the Mac OS, choose Applications > XPPS > Xerox FreeFlow Print Manager Tool Suite <version> > PrinterRegistration.
  3. In the FreeFlow Print Manager Printer Registration window, click Add, and add entries for any additional printers that you want to access.
  4. Save the printer discovery file. (Printer.disc is the default name.)
  5. Select the printer discovery file as the default.
  6. Click Exit.

Set preferences for Xerox FreeFlow Print Manager

  1. Start the Xerox FreeFlow Print Manager software.
    • In Windows, from the Start menu, select Programs > Xerox Applications > FreeFlow Print Manager Tool Suite <version> > FreeFlow Print Manager.
    • In the Mac OS, choose Applications > XPPS > Xerox FreeFlow Print Manager Tool Suite <version> > FreeFlowPrintManager.
  2. From the Options menu, select Preferences.
  3. On the General tab, in the Default Job Ticket area, select the Use Printer Defaults check box.
  4. Click the Job Notes tab.
  5. Clear the Use the document name as the job name check box.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Quit the Xerox FreeFlow Print Manager software.

Integrate FreeFlow Print Manager with Workshop

You can integrate the Xerox Freeflow Print Manager software with the Workshop user interface so that you can start Xerox FreeFlow Print Manager from the Tools menu of Workshop.

  1. Start the Prinergy Workshop software.
  2. From the Tools menu, select Digital Print Administration Console > Configure.
  3. Click Add.
  4. In the Add Digital Print Application dialog box, in the Application Name box, type the name of the menu item that you want to see on the Tools menu—for example, Xerox FreeFlow Print Manager.
  5. Click Browse, and locate the digital print software executable file.
    • In Windows, locate C:\Program Files\XPPS\FreeFlow Print Manager Tool Suite <version>\DigitalPrintClientWin.exe
    • In the Mac OS, locate Applications: Xerox FreeFlow Print Manager Tool Suite <version>\digitalprintclient_osx
  6. Select the Allow element submission check box, and click Add.
